Styling and Cooking for Fall
Style your home with beautiful fall decor and the warm scents of holiday cooking.
It’s that time of year when the temperature drops, the sweaters come out and a hint of winter is on the horizon. The bright summer colors give way to the warm, earthy tones of fall. Styling your home and getting organized for the upcoming holidays can be simple and enjoyable with just a few of my favorite tips.
THE FRONT PORCH

Start with the front porch and set the tone for everyone coming in. The fall colors and textures will help guests feel immediately cozy and welcome. I keep my front porch decor very neutral so I only have to swap out a few key elements for the season. My planters have boxwoods so they are always in season and green. I have two smaller accent planters for seasonal flowers. For this time of year, mums are my go-to choice! Since I prefer more muted colors, I typically go for a white mum but if you like more punch, the orange or burgundy options are beautiful. Pumpkins add the finishing touch and are easy to find this time of year at local pumpkin patches or grocery stores.
ENTRY

Continuing the fresh, fall vibe from the front porch right into your entry helps make the welcome experience seamless. Keeping it simple and minimal is the key to making styling for the holidays stress free. I simply swap out a few of my table items without feeling the need to totally redecorate. I have a leafy, green faux plant that I add a couple of fall branches too. Then a few pumpkins and some warm pillows finish off the space. Minimal changes can have a great impact which are helpful with both budgets and time. Pick a few main areas to add seasonal decor too and it can make the whole home feel holiday ready!

ORGANIZED HOME

With the perfect, subtle touches of fall your home is ready for the season. Now it’s time to get your kitchen and guest rooms organized so when the holidays come you are ready to enjoy every moment.
With just a few minutes and three measurements, the perfect, custom-fit drawer organizers are made and delivered to your home transforming those cluttered drawers. My favorite day is when my new organizers arrive and I get to see how it changes everything.

SIMPLE SOLUTIONS
Simple is almost always better. Less is almost always more. Every time I take things out of a space and let things breathe, it feels so good. Heading into the busiest time of year makes getting organized a must. I find myself so much more present with loved ones if I feel like my home is organized and under control.
My favorite simple solution is a clear, acrylic drawer divider that compartmentalizes without adding to clutter, keeping pans and baking dishes ready and tidy for holiday cooking. I love opening a drawer that is clean, not overfull and where I can see everything I need quickly. With the amount of time spent daily opening drawers and searching, efficiency is critical for me.
HOSTING

For hosting, I love to set a beautiful table and make it feel warm and inviting. I keep all of my dishes in one area of the kitchen along with linens, silverware and glassware making it easy to access. I have neutral toned dishes so adding seasonal napkins and a few themed decor items can quickly transform the table with minimal effort and cost. My husband is the chef in our home so I love to focus on keeping the kitchen organized and making the table beautiful!
Good luck with your styling and organization! Focus on simplifying and a few items will go a long way.
Happy Fall,
