Celebrating Small Business

Celebrating Small Business

Small Business Saturday is more than a shopping day—it’s a reminder of what happens when people choose community.

Salt by Sabrina began with one clear goal: to bring order, beauty, and calm into the spaces that shape our lives. What started as a passion for organization has grown into a thriving business that partners with builders, designers, and homeowners across Utah and beyond.

But like so many small businesses, this journey didn’t happen in isolation. It was made possible because of the incredible support from a community that believes in small businesses and in each other.

Our Story

Owning a small business means wearing every hat, learning as you go, and taking risks fueled by passion. It’s an act of faith and grit.

Along the way, I’ve been surrounded by remarkable entrepreneurs who share that same determination—to build something that matters.

Celebrating the Businesses & Founders That Inspire Me

As we celebrate Small Business Saturday, I want to highlight some of the amazing founders and brands that have inspired and supported me along this journey:

Perk Energy

We celebrate Perk—a company launched by a husband-and-wife team mixing batches by hand and shipping orders after work. Their determination, heart, and commitment to helping others turned one unique drink into a movement of energy, comfort, and community. Founded by Rena Doman, whose products power so many of my early mornings and late nights.

Beehive Meals

Supporting small means supporting families—and Beehive Meals makes family dinnertime easier than ever. Grateful for a company that brings convenience, flavor, and heart to every home they serve. Created by Allyse Jackson, who’s redefining convenience and nourishment for busy families.

Shine Cosmetics

Shine Cosmetics - founded by Darcy Wilde whose mission to help women feel confident from the inside out perfectly mirrors her brand name. It all started when a mother realized the beauty industry needed a better message for our daughters. Today, their affirming products and empowering mission remind women everywhere of their worth, their strength, and their inherent shine.

Pip Pop Post

We’re celebrating Pip Pop Post—founded by Sydney and Janelle, who bring creativity and joy to every piece of jewelry. It is a brand built on comfort, quality, and the belief that jewelry should feel as good as it looks. Their secure, skin-friendly pieces are made to be lived in, loved, and enjoyed in every season of life.

Tobik Travel

Small businesses often start with stories, and TOBIQ’s began in a river valley in Eastern Canada where a young girl fell in love with exploring. Today, that spirit lives on in travel gear designed to simplify the chaos, strengthen the adventure, and make every family journey a little brighter. Founded by Melinda Frandsen, who helps others see the world with fresh eyes and deeper purpose with beautifully organized travel bags.

Pony Pick

This Small Business Saturday, we’re cheering on The Pony Pick—created by a mom who turned years of tugging and tears into a safe, simple solution. Because every parent deserves an easier routine, and every child deserves a gentle touch. Founded by Lauren Petersen who brings joy to everyone lucky enough to know her.

Lavant Collective

L’AVANT Collective began with two moms who wanted safer, more stylish cleaning essentials for their families. Today, their modern, high-performing products make every home feel cleaner, greener, and a little more luxurious. Lindsay and Kristi embody grace and an abundance mindset lifting all who interact with them.

These women are not just business owners—they’re visionaries, mentors, and friends. They embody the spirit of what makes the small business community so powerful.

A Rising Tide Lifts All Ships

Utah’s entrepreneurial community is something truly special. It’s collaborative, not competitive. It’s generous, not guarded. I’ve felt that support firsthand—from mentors, customers, and fellow founders who lift each other up.

As we each work to grow our own dreams, we create space for others to succeed too. A rising tide lifts all ships—and when we support small businesses, we’re strengthening families, communities, and futures.

This Small Business Saturday, I invite you to shop local, share your favorite small brands, and remember that behind every purchase is a dream, a story, and a person who’s grateful for your support.
